We heard a rumor that internal SSD drives run too hot for our computers and could possibly damage the logic board. Larry O’Connor, Founder of Other World Computing (OWC) and guru behind MacSales.com disagrees.

agree in principle, about heat of drives, however old MACBOOKS and running those computers at higher temps could possibly be causing some issues with worn, or it could be apple just trying to dodge the issue and saying that since you didn’t buy a new Macbook and upgraded it with an SSD they don’t want to admit any fault with an aftermarket modification.
