Streamlining Access of Over 15,000 Hours of Media: FCCE & Axle AI Form Partnership

(2024-10-23, Boston, MA, Special to the U.S. Times) With television industry trade show MIPCOM in fast gear, FCCE, a broadcast media company specializing in celebrity, Hollywood, and lifestyle content, has announced a partnership with Axle AI, a video search tool powered by artificial intelligence using criteria such as keywords, visual elements (including facial, object and logo recognition), and spoken content.

This collaboration aims to make FCCE’s extensive media library more accessible through Axle AI’s tools. With an archive of over 15,000 hours of entertainment footage recorded over the span of 35 years, FCCE hopes to unlock previously untapped or forgotten media assets and make the processing time for new content more efficient, expediting delivery to clients worldwide.

Justus Verkerk, CEO of FCCE, emphasized the importance of this partnership, given the specific needs of his company, stating, “Handling large volumes of video footage has always been a key objective in our company. The first content handling platform we built ourselves for the Entertainment Experience even earned us a Digital Emmy Award in 2013. We had this vision already 20 years ago, but achieving it on the scale we needed just wasn’t possible… until now! This new capability is crucial for maintaining the timeliness and relevance of the media we provide to broadcasters, digital platforms and even OEM’s worldwide.”

Sam Bogoch, CEO of Axle AI, reflects on his many visits to FCCE’s headquarters in Amsterdam, where he got a first-hand look at the immense workload necessitating this partnership. He states, “Seeing the scale of FCCE’s operations and understanding their exact production process was pivotal. Typically, our clients work with recognizing 20 or 30 faces in their media assets. FCCE is pushing this to 15,000+ faces to be found in 35 years of raw footage—this was a very different ‘animal’ for our team to handle. It was an unprecedented challenge, but together with the FCCE team we came up with solutions that brought out the best in both companies.”

Both companies will be showcasing this technology at MIPCOM in Cannes, France from October 21 to 24.
