Jeannine Wagner, founder of the Wagner Ensemble, directs the rehearsal of J.S. Bach’s Mass in B Minor at the Oneonta Congregational Church in South Pasadena.

(South Pasadena, CA) If you’re looking for something to do that will entertain and inspire you, make your way to South Pasadena for the Wagner Ensemble’s performance of J.S. Bach’s Mass in B Minor under the direction of Jeannine Wagner. The concert is scheduled for 4:30 pm, Sunday, May 21 at the Oneonta Congregational Church, 1515 Garfield Ave, South Pasadena, CA 91030. (Pictures for this article were taken by Cirina Catania during rehearsal on May 19, 2017.)

Jeannine Wagner founded the acclaimed Wagner Ensemble in 1991 under the auspices of the Roger Wagner Choral Institute and performs regularly in the United States and Internationally.

J.S. Bach’s Mass in B Minor is one of his last works believed to have been completed in 1749, just one year prior to his death, and is considered by many music scholars to be one of his greatest achievements.

If Friday’s rehearsal is any indication, the concert will be enjoyable and memorable and I highly recommend it. The members of this group are some of Southern California’s most elite classical musicians and we are privileged to be able to enjoy the beautiful sound of this inspired creation performed by such a dedicated group.

Tickets may be purchased online at Brown Paper Tickets (click here for link).Suggested donation at the door is $20 for general admission and $15 for seniors or students.) The Ensemble has a Facebook Page where you can get more information.
