Attorney Jonathan Handel recently reported on the pending negotiations between SAG-AFTRA and the video game industry. His article in the Hollywood Reporter can be found HERE. SAG-AFTRA also published an information sheet for its members.

We had more questions about how this will affect members and what might be happening behind those closed doors.

Companies producing video game content that might potentially be affected include:

• ActivisionPublishingInc.
• Blindlight,LLC
• CorpsofDiscoveryFilms
• DisneyCharacterVoices,Inc.
• ElectronicArtsProductions,Inc.
• FormosaInteractive,LLC
• InsomniacGames,Inc.
• InteractiveAssociates,Inc.
• Take2InteractiveSoftware
• VoiceWorksProductions,Inc.and
• WBGames,Inc.

The types of actors affected include voice actors, character actors, stunt voice-over actors. The unions are concerned about transparency, voice safety, residuals, pay scale and other compensation issues. On their side, the unions respond that they are paying enough and there have been viable provisions on the negotiating table for over a year.
