IBC 2017 Update: Philip Hodgetts to Demo Automatic Transcription and Keyword Extraction for Story-Building Using Lumberjack System

September 14, 2017

Story Highlights

  • IBC 2017 - Highlighting Artificial Intelligence
  • Philip Hodgetts to introduce new version of Lumberjack System
  • Soho Editors Feature 2-Days of FCP X at Spaces Zuidas
The Lumberjack System enables media producers working in non-scripted/reality to log keywords in real time and manage that metadata seamlessly using Final Cut in post.

(Amsterdam, The Netherlands, September 15, 2017) IBC 2017 is now open and Artificial Intelligence is forefront on many tech minds. Although most are simply “discussing” and “predicting” it, few are actually implementing it. There a few exceptions. Two well-known technologists and developers who specialize in applications for production and post-production, Philip Hodgetts and Dr. Gregory Clarke, are a step ahead of their competitors with their new version of Lumberjack System, “Lumberjack Builder.”

Philip Hodgetts, Co-Founder, The Lumberjack System is a well-known technologist and “metadata guru.” He is shown here demonstrating post-production workflow using Lumberjack.

Lumberjack Builder features Automatic Transcription and Keyword Extraction in its software and is an app optimized for building stories from transcript elements. Hodgetts says, “Builder’s story building tools along with its advanced metadata acquisition and management capabilities make ‘writing’ video stories possible by simply dragging and dropping media selects into a storyline.”

Details are under wrap until the reveal coming this weekend when  Hodgetts demos a sneak preview of Lumberjack Builder during IBC at the SohoEditors’ FCPX World in Broadcast event at the Spaces Zuidas, Saturday, September 16th at 12:15 pm and Sunday, September 17th at 2:30 pm.
