USTimes Interviews Hollywood’s Irreverent Writer, Publicist, Marketer, Dick Delson

For over 40 years, my friend, Dick Delson worked behind the scenes marketing and publicizing some of Hollywood’s most successful movies. He’s got lots of stories to tell and has no qualms about telling them. I couldn’t help but laugh while we were talking. If you are at all interested in the genesis of Star Wars, that famous line from Jaws, how American Graffiti almost didn’t get made, or how Ron Howard worked with the blessing of major drug smugglers on the island while filming Splash, stay tuned. Lew Wasserman, one of our greatest agents and studio legends was his boss for a while and sent Dick to the White House where he worked for the President for several months.
